Richard Baron
European Climate Foundation
Richard Baron is director of the Trade Programme and director of the Clean Industrial Transformation Campaign at the European Climate Foundation. He has been working on various aspects of climate change policy making for over three decades, ranging from industrial competitiveness, public procurement, the transformation of the electricity sector, carbon market mechanisms and UNFCCC negotiations. He held positions at the International Energy Agency, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, Iddri, France’s leading think-tank on climate and international relations, and various economic research organisations (Cired in France, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the United States). He holds a business degree from Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales and an advanced degree in theoretical and applied economics from DELTA (Paris School of Economics).
Gianmarco Ottaviano
Bocconi University
Gianmarco Ottaviano is Professor of Economics and Achille and Giulia Boroli Chair in European Studies at the Department of Economics of Bocconi University, where he is co-Director of the Research Unit on Globalization and Industry Dynamics of BAFFI, fellow of GREEN and IGIER, and sits in the Steering Committee of BLEST. He is also affiliated with CEP, CEPR and CREAM in London, IfW in Kiel, and GEP in Nottingham. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain). During his career he has been Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and at LSE. He is the co-author of many works in international trade, urban economics and economic geography. His publications focus on the competitiveness of firms in the global economy as well as the economic effects of immigration and offshoring on employment and wages.
Clara Brandi
University of Bonn
Clara Brandi is Head of Department at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and Professor of International Economics and Development Economics at the University of Bonn. She studied economics and political science in Freiburg and Oxford and received her PhD from the European University Institute. Her research focuses on global economic governance with a focus on international trade and finance as well as climate change.
Antoine Oger
Institute for European Environmental Policy
Antoine Oger is the Executive Director of the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP), a Brussels-based think tank working with stakeholders across EU & international institutions, academia, civil society and industry to produce evidence-based research on EU sustainability policies. His work focuses on the coherence of the EU internal and external policies related to trade, climate and circular economy. He previously worked for over 12 years on the provision of trade-related technical assistance to countries in the global south. His recent publications include IEEP policy reports on the “long-term linkages between climate objectives and international trade and investment” or a briefing on “Trade for an inclusive circular economy: A framework for collective action” developed with Chatham House. Antoine is also Adjunct Professor at Sciences Po Paris teaching on the “EU Sustainability Policies in an International Perspective”, as well as at Paris La Sorbonne-Nouvelle on “climate-related development projects in emerging economies”. Antoine holds a MA in European Politics from the Institute of Political Studies of Rennes in France.
